Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Ratification of the Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation on the Yamal LNG Project.
The Protocol to the Russian-Chinese Agreement on Cooperation on the Yamal LNG Project will enable the implementation of a deal that will see China’s Silk Road Fund Co. Ltd. acquire a 9.9-percent stake in Yamal LNG from NOVATEK, in addition to the shares in Yamal LNG that belong to China National Petroleum Corporation’s subsidiary, in accordance with the Agreement.
Russia’s obligations under the Protocol make it possible to bring additional investment into the Yamal LNG project.
