Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants and guests of the opening ceremony for the cross-years of Russia-China Interregional Cooperation.
The message reads, in part:
”Relations between our countries are dynamically developing in the spirit of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation. The bilateral agenda is constantly expanding as it continues to include more topics.
Today, we are launching cross-years of interregional cooperation. This ambitious joint project continues the traditional practice of thematic years and is designed to strengthen mutually beneficial relations between the Russian regions and China’s provinces, autonomous regions and central subordination cities. Hundreds of different events will take place as part of the cross-years programme in 2018–2019, including investment presentations, trade, industrial and agricultural exhibitions, conferences, culture festivals and study tours. In addition, active contacts between representatives of our countries’ regions are expected to take place during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum and the Russia-China EXPO.
I am confident that the programme of the cross-years will make it possible to implement many interesting and promising initiatives in various fields, help fully tap the rich potential of interregional cooperation, which is an important component of Russia-China interaction.“
