Vladimir Putin congratulated Raul Castro on his re-election as President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
President Putin noted that the election results bear witness to Raul Castro’s significant authority as well as the broad popular support for large-scale social and economic reforms underway in Cuba.
Vladimir Putin reiterated his readiness to continue working together to strengthen friendly Russian-Cuban relations.
In addition, Russia’s leader wished Mr Castro every success in his high-level government work.
