President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez

Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez on his election as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and extended his birthday greetings to the Cuban leader. The President also sent friendly greetings to Raul Castro.
The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in the comprehensive strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and Cuba. They also emphasised the importance of the implementation of the current joint projects in trade, economic and other spheres.
Vladimir Putin and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez expressed their readiness to coordinate efforts to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The leaders agreed to intensify the Russian-Cuban dialogue in various formats.
