Dmitry Medvedev congratulated President of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Raul Castro on National Liberation Day, the country’s national holiday.
The congratulatory message reads, in part:
“Our nations are bound by long-term, stable relations of friendship and cooperation. It is very important that in recent years, we have been maintaining an active political dialogue and deepening business and humanitarian ties. The level of constructive multifaceted cooperation we have achieved is a solid foundation for further promoting cooperation in key areas of the economy, science, and culture, as well as on the international arena.
We are ready to keep developing Russian-Cuban strategic partnership for the benefit of our countries and our peoples, in the interest of ensuring security and stability in Latin America.”
The message was delivered by Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov, who arrived in Cuba on an official visit.
