Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias following the tragedy at the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base.
In his telegram, Mr Medvedev said, in particular,
“I express my sincere condolences over the tragedy at the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base, in which many people have been killed and injured.
I offer my sympathy and support to the people of Cyprus at this difficult time for the country.
Mr President, I ask you to please pass on my words of sympathy to the victims’ families and my best wishes for a speedy recovery to all who were injured.”
