Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Cyprus Demetris Christofias, during which he discussed current bilateral matters, including prospects for continued economic and financial cooperation in the context of the Eurozone crisis.
Regarding the island’s continued division, Mr Putin said that resolving the situation would require a settlement in the interests of both communities in Cyprus in accordance with UN resolutions.
