Vladimir Putin sent a message to Nicos Anastasiades to congratulate him on being elected President of the Republic of Cyprus.
The telegram reads, in part:
“I count on working closely with you to further strengthen friendly Russian-Cypriot relations, and broaden bilateral dialogue and constructive cooperation in the trade and economic, energy, humanitarian and other sectors. I am confident that this will promote stability and prosperity in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.”
