Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
Angela Merkel congratulated Vladimir Putin on officially taking office as President of the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations, including planned contacts at the highest level. Mr Putin gratefully accepted Ms Merkel’s invitation to make a working visit to Germany.
