Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on German initiative.
A thorough exchange of opinions on various aspects of the Syrian crisis took place. Both parties proceed from the fact that active efforts to resolve the situation by political and diplomatic means will continue in the UN and other formats. In particular, the parties noted the importance of having the Security Council examine the UN inspectors’ report on possible evidence of the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
