Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces of the Arab Republic of Egypt Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi in connection with the loss of life in the riots that broke out following a national championship football match.
The message reads, in part:
“It is with great sadness that I learned about the tragedy that occurred on February 1 at the Port Said Stadium, which claimed dozens of lives.
Please convey our sincere condolences to those who lost their loved ones in these events and wishes of speedy recovery to the injured.”
