Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to President of France Nicolas Sarkozy in connection with the deaths of students and teachers at a Toulouse school following an attack by an unknown assailant.
The message reads, in part:
“I was deeply shocked to learn of the brutal crime committed at a school in Toulouse.
This barbaric act confirms the urgency of further increasing joint efforts to combat terrorism, whose victims are primarily civilians.
Please convey my sincere condolences and words of support to the families and friends of the victims and wishes of speedy recovery to the injured.”
