On December 24, the President of Russia will make an official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
During the talks the two leaders will discuss specific steps to further develop the Russian-Indian strategic partnership in trade, economic, energy, and cultural and humanitarian spheres. The parties will also exchange views on current issues on the international and regional agendas. It is expected that a number of joint documents will be signed.

The year 2012 is an anniversary year for both countries: 65 years ago Russia and India established diplomatic relations.
The trade and economic cooperation is actively developing. In January-October 2012 the bilateral trade increased by 30 percent against the same period last year. The countries are in close cooperation within the UN, G20, BRICS, SCO, RIC, EAS and other international forums.
