Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of India on Handover of Persons Sentenced to Terms of Imprisonment, signed in Moscow on October 21, 2013.
The Agreement’s aim is to create the legal base for Russian-Indian cooperation in handover of persons sentenced to prison terms to their country of citizenship to continue their sentences. The Agreement aims to facilitate these people’s return to normal life in society.
