Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The two leaders reviewed the issues on the agenda of Russian-Iranian relations and confirmed their commitment to further develop multi-faceted mutually beneficial cooperation.
Energy cooperation, including within the framework of the Bushehr NPP project, which is to be launched in the near future, was highlighted as one of the most promising areas of cooperation.
During the exchange of views on Iran’s nuclear programme, Dmitry Medvedev and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad noted the importance of the forthcoming Istanbul Summit between Iran and the six international mediators. They agreed to continue the discussion in various multilateral formats.
