Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with Ali Akbar Velayati, special representative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and advisor on international affairs to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, as well as issues on the regional and international agenda.
Other participants in the meeting included Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Iranian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Mehdi Sanaei and Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpur.
