The President signed the Federal Law On the Ratification of the Protocol on Amending the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran on Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Cases of March 5, 1996.
The Protocol was signed in Moscow on March 28, 2017, in order to improve Russian-Iranian cooperation as part of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran on Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Cases of March 5, 1996.
The Protocol is aimed at bringing the Agreement into compliance with modern international treaty practice and at facilitating interaction between the relevant agencies of the parties in its realisation. The Protocol updates a number of the Agreement’s provisions and amends it with regard to the changes in Russian and Iranian law.
