In his message, the President of Russia expressed confidence that Paolo Gentiloni’s extensive political experience and knowledge would help him in his responsible task of serving as Prime Minister of Italy.

Vladimir Putin noted that Paolo Gentiloni is known in Russia as a proponent of constructive, mutually beneficial relations between Russia and Italy. He went on to confirm his readiness to actively step up bilateral partnership ties in all areas and to coordinate efforts in resolving topical issues on the European and global agendas.

The President also congratulated Paolo Gentiloni on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, and wished him every success in his government responsibilities.
