Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Japan on Simplifying Visa Procedures for Citizens of the Russian Federation and Citizens of Japan.
The Agreement was signed on January 28, 2012 in Tokyo and aims to strengthen the contractual foundation for Russian-Japanese relations with regard to mutual visits by Russian and Japanese citizens.
The Agreement stipulates creating optimal conditions for simplifying visa regulations for mutual visits by certain categories of Russian and Japanese citizens, first and foremost representatives from business and science communities, cultural and sports workers, and journalists.
