Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.
Vladimir Putin congratulated Moon Jae-in on his election as head of state and wished him every success.
The two leaders discussed important bilateral issues and current items on the international agenda. In particular, they expressed mutual interest in further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. While exchanging views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula, both leaders underlined the importance of finding ways to resolve the crisis politically and diplomatically.
Vladimir Putin and President Moon Jae-in agreed to maintain further contact.
