The President signed Federal Law On Ratifying the Protocol on Amending the Agreement Between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Conditions of Use and Rent of the Sary-Shagan Testing Range and Providing Vital Services to the Town of Priozersk of January 20, 1995.
The Protocol was signed in Moscow on April 16, 2015.
The Protocol stipulates amending the Agreement to establish new coordinates for the testing range’s borders with the aim of eliminating tracts of land that are not used by the Russian Defence Ministry and where the Kazakhstani side can carry out seasonal agricultural and geological prospecting work without detriment to the use of the testing range for its intended purpose.
