During the telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin extended his warm wishes to President Nazarbayev on his birthday.
The two leaders discussed the resolution of the Syrian crisis taking into account the results of the 5th International Meeting on Syria, which took place in Astana on July 4–5.
Earlier, the President of Russia sent birthday greetings to Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The message reads, in part:
“You have rightly gained great respect among your compatriots and abroad as a wise and forward-looking politician who contributes greatly to the socioeconomic development of his country and to strengthening Kazakhstan’s positions on the global scene.
It is impossible to overrate your personal contribution to the strong alliance and strategic partnership between our countries as well as to the expansion of mutually beneficial integration processes and ensuring security across the Eurasian space.
I highly value the mutual understanding and trust between us. We work together very productively on all issues of the bilateral, regional and international agenda.”
