Greetings on opening of historic-documentary exhibition The Romanovs and the Grimaldis. Three Centuries of History: XVII-XX Centuries

October 5, 2016

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to all the organisers and guests of the historic-documentary exhibition The Romanovs and the Grimaldis. Three Centuries of History: XVII-XX Centuries that opened in the Moscow Tretyakov Gallery.

The message reads, in part:

“Cooperation between Russia and the Principality of Monaco goes back several centuries. The ties between our two countries’ royal dynasties, which were always distinguished by their friendly, sincere and trusting nature, are a memorable page in our multifaceted relations.

I am certain that this substantive exhibition, which presents rare and truly unique documents from the collections of Russian archives and museums, will be a central event in the Days of the Principality of Monaco in Russia, and the exhibition’s organisation is a convincing demonstration of the growing mutual interest and sympathy our peoples have for each other and of their desire to strengthen fruitful cooperation in science, culture, the arts and education”.
