Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the faculty, students and graduates of the Ulaanbaatar branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
The message reads, in part:
“The opening of a branch of one of Russia’s leading universities in Mongolia has been a major and significant event in both countries’ social and cultural life, providing convincing evidence of the long-standing traditions of friendship, neighbourly relations and mutual respect, which we sincerely value.
It is heartening to see that over the past years, the branch has evolved into a large educational centre, which includes primary and secondary schools as well as the university, with instruction in Russian at every level of training, meeting Russian educational standards.
You can rightfully be proud of your outstanding professors and mentors, as well as your graduates currently serving in government bodies, working in various sectors of the economy and social facilities, in credit and finance, or in research institutes in Mongolia, Russia and other countries. I would also like to note that your students’ excellent proficiency in the Russian language and their knowledge of the rich culture of our multiethnic country certainly play an important role in their success in business and life.”
