Vladimir Putin extended condolences to Acting President of the Republic of Namibia Nangolo Mbumba over the death of President of Namibia Hage Geingob.
The message reads, in part:
“Hage Geingob’s name is associated with the formation of Namibia’s statehood as well as with many significant events in your country’s recent history. As a young man, he fought bravely for Namibia’s independence, and afterwards, he faithfully served his Motherland for a long period, including as President and in other high government positions. His personal contribution to fostering friendly relations between Namibia and Russia cannot be overestimated.
I had the opportunity to meet this remarkable man, and I will forever hold vivid memories of him.”
In his message, the President of Russia asked to convey words of sincere sympathy and support to the family and friends of the deceased, and to all the people of Namibia.
