Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan following the many lives taken by major terrorist attacks in the city of Kano.
The message reads, in part:
“Please accept my sincere condolences over the terrorist attacks in Kano, which have taken many human lives.
This terrible act of evil confirms the need for coordinated joint action in order to fight terrorism effectively. Russia will continue to follow its consistent policy on consolidating international efforts in this area.
I am sure that those who organised and carried out the terrorist attacks will be brought to justice and severely punished.
Please convey my words of support and sympathy to the victims’ families and my wishes for a speedy recovery to all who were injured.”
