Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the initiative of the Qatari side.
Both parties noted the high level of Russian-Qatari cooperation and confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening it in various areas. In this context, they gave a positive assessment of the results of the visit by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to Russia last week.
The Qatari leader expressed his support for the actions of the Russian authorities related to the events of June 24.
Vladimir Putin heartily congratulated Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the 10th anniversary of his enthronement, as well as on the upcoming holiday of Eid al-Adha.
The two leaders agreed to maintain contact.
