Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud.
Mr Medvedev and King Abdullah exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East with respect to the events in Syria.
The two leaders discussed bilateral and international coordination of efforts to stabilise the situation in the region as swiftly as possible.
