The President said, in particular, in his message:

“Singapore’s entire modern history with its huge achievements in economic, social, and technological development is inextricably linked with your name. Over your decades of work as Prime Minister and in other high state posts you have earned the greatest respect in international political and business circles.

It would be difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to developing friendly ties between our countries. I am sure that Russian-Singaporean relations will continue to grow stronger for the good of both countries’ peoples and in the interests of stability and security throughout the Asia-Pacific region.”
