At the initiative of the Senegalese party, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Senegal Macky Sall.
As a follow-up to contacts that took place during the second Russia–Africa Summit in St Petersburg, the two leaders discussed current issues of Russian-Senegalese cooperation, including prospects for the further development of trade, economic and investment ties. Vladimir Putin and Macky Sall expressed their mutual commitment to boosting joint work in this area.
Opinions were also exchanged in relation to the sharp aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The two leaders agreed that the discussion of all these issues would continue through various bilateral channels.
