Vladimir Putin congratulated Thailand’s new King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on his ascension to the throne.
“We see a worthy successor of the Chakri dynasty, during whose reign Russia and Thailand established diplomatic relations almost 120 years ago,” the President of Russia said in his congratulatory message.
The President expressed the hope that during the new monarch’s rule Russian-Thai cooperation will develop further for the benefit of the friendly peoples of the two countries and in the interest of enhancing stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
