Vladimir Putin congratulated Emomali Rahmon on his re-election as President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In a congratulatory message, the Russian President noted that Emomali Rahmon’s convincing election victory fully reflects the high degree of confidence that Tajikistani citizens have in him, as well as the recognition of his achievements in advancing the country’s socioeconomic development.
Vladimir Putin emphasised that relations between Russia and Tajikistan are traditionally friendly and constructive. He also confirmed his interest in continuing to work together to further strengthen their strategic partnership for the benefit of both nations, and in the interests of peace, security and stability in Central Asia.

Vladimir Putin also had a telephone conversation with Mr Rahmon and congratulated him on his success in Tajikistan’s presidential election.
