Vladimir Putin will make a working visit to Turkey (Istanbul) on December 3, to take part in the third meeting of High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council.
The agreement to establish the Council as the main body setting the development strategy for Russian-Turkish relations was reached during Mr Putin’s visit to Turkey in 2009. The Council last met in Moscow on March 16, 2011.
The upcoming meeting’s agenda includes the full range of bilateral relations, including trade, economic and investment ties, interregional and cultural and humanitarian cooperation, implementation of joint strategic projects in the energy sector, and banking sector cooperation.
An exchange of views on key international and regional affairs, in particular, the situation in the Middle East, Trans-Caucasus, Central Asia and the Balkans will also take place.
The Council is expected to see the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.
