Telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The conversation was initiated by the Turkish side.

The two leaders discussed current bilateral cooperation issues, including the implementation of the agreements reached at the third meeting of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council in Istanbul in December 2012 and the preparations for the next Council meeting to be held in Russia later this year. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the development of the multifaceted Russian-Turkish cooperation, including in the energy sector.

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan also exchanged views on the regional situation, especially in Syria and around it. Both sides expressed their willingness to coordinate their actions in the interests of finding a political solution to the crisis.

The parties agreed to maintain regular contact.
