Condolences to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan

January 1, 2017

Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the deaths of Turkish citizens and those of a number of other countries following a terrorist attack in Istanbul.

“It is impossible to imagine a more cynical crime than the killing of civilians during the New Year. But terrorists are devoid of any idea of human morals. Our common duty is to decisively strike back against the terrorist aggression,” the Russian President stressed in his message of condolences.

President Putin confirmed that Russia has always been and will always remain Turkey’s reliable partner in fighting terrorism.

Vladimir Putin passed on words of sympathy to the victims’ families and friends and wished a speedy recovery to all those who were injured.
