Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants of the 20th Anniversary International Conference Crimea 2013 Libraries and Information Resources in the Modern World of Science, Culture, Education, and Business.
The message reads, in part:
“This conference is one of the biggest events devoted to developing libraries. Every year, it brings together hundreds of people from around the world, scientists, education and culture sector workers, journalists, and experts from the biggest libraries.
It gives you an excellent opportunity to discuss the most relevant professional issues and exchange the latest experience and ideas on how to develop libraries as education and learning centres. This work is particularly required in the global information environment, because it makes a real contribution to encouraging more and more people to raise their educational level and look for new knowledge.
I hope that this year’s anniversary conference will mark a milestone in increasing cooperation between libraries and will make a big contribution to developing international humanitarian ties.”
