On Ukraine’s initiative, Dmitry Medvedev and Viktor Yanukovych had a telephone conversation on August 1.
Mr Medvedev thanked his Ukrainian counterpart for Ukraine’s offer of help in the fire-fighting effort underway in several Russian regions, and in assisting with medical treatment and rehabilitation for fire victims.
The two presidents also discussed the prospects of bilateral contacts at various levels.
