Vladimir Putin congratulated President of the USA Barack Obama and all Americans on Independence Day.
In his congratulatory telegram, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia and the US bear a special responsibility for guaranteeing global security and stability, resolving regional crisises and countering terrorist threats and other challenges of the contemporary world.
The President of Russia expressed his confidence that even though the views of the two states do not always coincide, Russia and the USA will eventually find solutions to multiple issues of principle importance if they base their bilateral dialogue on mutual respect and take into account each other’s interests.
President Putin also noted the importance of the discussion he had with Barack Obama in Lough Erne where they thoroughly and openly addressed bilateral and international agenda and agreed on various steps for broadening practical cooperation.
The President of Russia confirmed his readiness for further meetings which could take place in early September in Moscow and St Petersburg.
