Dmitry Medvedev sent his congratulations to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on Independence Day, Uzbekistan’s national holiday.
The message reads, in part:
“The Russian-Uzbekistani relations of friendship and cooperation have been expanding. Regular political contacts, confidential dialogue at the highest level and a shared vision of global processes allow us to constructively address important issues on a mutually beneficial basis.
I am confident that close cooperation between our states, both bilaterally and through regional and international organisations, will be further strengthened in the interests of our nations, peace and stability in Central Asia.”
