In the course of the telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin extended his birthday greetings to the President of Uzbekistan.

Prior to the conversation, the President of Russia sent a message of greetings to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The message reads, in part:

“You enjoy well-deserved respect among your compatriots and around the world as an experienced and forward-looking statesman who has done a great deal for the economic and social development of Uzbekistan. You have made a crucial personal contribution to building up relations of strategic partnership and alliance between our countries.

I would be happy to continue our constructive dialogue and close joint work. I am confident that your upcoming visit to Russia will contribute to the further development of our mutually beneficial cooperation in all spheres in the interests of our brotherly nations.”
