Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang on the 40th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification.
The message reads, in part:
“Russia remembers and honours the deeds of the Vietnamese people who won their freedom and independence through such sacrifice. We are proud that in those years of trial our country actively assisted and supported our Vietnamese friends.
I am certain that the relations of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will continue developing fruitfully contributing to the stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.”
