Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia on the Settlement of Issues of Dual Citizenship.
The Agreement was signed in Moscow on September 27, 2022.
The Agreement envisages that citizens of one country have the right, without renouncing their current citizenship, to acquire the citizenship of the other country. The acquisition and termination of citizenship not regulated by the new agreement is carried out in accordance with legislation of each of the two countries.
