Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Cases.
The Agreement, drafted with due account to modern legal practices, Russian legislation and international standards in this area, was signed in Moscow on October 14, 2014 with the aim of developing the international legal base for cooperation between Russia and South Ossetian in providing mutual legal assistance in criminal cases.
In accordance with the Agreement, the parties will, on a reciprocal basis and in accordance with the agreement’s provisions, provide assistance to one another during investigations, legal proceedings and other procedural actions related to criminal cases.
