Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On the Federal Executive Bodies Responsible for Determining the Measures to Ensure the Safety of Navigation in the Security Areas Established Around Artificial Islands, Installations and Structures on the Continental Shelf of the Russian Federation, as well as Measures to Ensure the Safety of Such Artificial Islands, Installations and Structures.
The executive order establishes that the Transport Ministry bears the responsibility for ensuring the safety of navigation in the zones around artificial islands, installations and structures on the continental shelf of the Russian Federation. The Federal Security Service and the Defence Ministry are responsible for the safety of artificial islands, installations and structures.
Relevant instructions have been issued to the Government.
