The President said, in his message:

“Today, on Red Square in Moscow, drivers from many different countries meet once again, some of you already very experienced, and some of you young and just starting out. Ahead, you have 3,000 kilometres of a very tough route to cross, and a tense and fierce battle to win that will put to the test the vehicles and the rally participants. Of course, you will also taste the joys of friendship and get to know wonderful and hospitable Russian towns and villages.

I am sure that you complete the whole route with honour, demonstrate your best professional and human qualities, and give your supporters unforgettable moments of triumph and pride in the successes of their favourite teams. And Russia will once again confirm its high standing as a recognised centre of world motor sports.”
