Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov took part in the commissioning of the head segment of the M11 Moscow-St Petersburg Highway.
The 15–58 km section is the head segment of the M11 Moscow-St Petersburg toll road, which will become an alternative to the existing M10 Russia federal highway. The calculated speed on the highway is set at 150 km/hour; its total length is 669 kilometres.
The commissioning of the head segment will provide access to Sheremetyevo international airport and to the towns of Khimki, Dolgoprudny, Skhodnya and Zelenograd in the Moscow Region. The section will operate in trial mode until July1, 2015.
Mr Ivanov read out a message of greetings from the President. The ceremony was also attended by Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov.
