The President said in his telegram, in particular:

“Over a decade of active and fruitful work, the Union has solidly established itself and earned a reputation as an influential public organisation bringing together leading specialists, scientists, engineers, and businesspeople working in the transport sector.

The transport sector has always played an important part in developing Russia’s economy, industry, agriculture and business. It has a big impact on millions of people’s quality of life. This is why the state authorities place such importance on modernising the rail, road, sea, river and air transport infrastructure and links and are putting the emphasis on extensive use of technology that meets the highest safety and environmental standards. We hope very much for help in achieving these objectives from the significant potential the Union offers with its thorough expert reports, professionalism, and firm commitment to strengthening constructive dialogue with the authorities.”
