Presidential Aide Igor Levitin held a meeting of the Commission on General-Purpose Aviation and GLONASS-based Navigation and Information Technology.
The meeting was dedicated to the prospects for the development of light aircraft in Russia.
The participants discussed the current state of light aviation and prospects for its development. Light aircraft include aeroplanes and helicopters with a maximum take-off mass of up to 5,700 kg and 3,100 kg, respectively, and remotely-piloted air systems of up to 30 kg, including those used for commercial purposes. The participants also considered the main ways in which administrative and legal relations could be improved in order to unlock the potential of this civil aviation segment to serve the interests of the state and society.
The commission members paid special attention to the target indicators of industry development, the role of public administration, and the delimitation of the competence of federal executive bodies in charge of government regulation of activity of general-purpose aviation, as part of civil aviation.
The meeting participants included representatives from federal and regional executive bodies, as well as from state corporations and organisations in the space and transport industries, navigation and information technology sector, and non-profit and professional aviation organisations.
