Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 5 and 51 of the Commercial Maritime Code of the Russian Federation.
Specifically, the Federal Law specifies that navigation permits and ice pilotage certificates for the Northern Sea Route shall be issued by a federal executive body in charge of public services and state property management related to maritime transport, or a subordinate organisation of the said executive body as agreed upon with Rosatom State Corporation or its subordinate organisation.
