Vladimir Putin sent greetings to current staff and retired employees of Sovcomflot (Modern Commercial Fleet) on the company’s 50th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“In the past 50 years, the company has developed and strengthened its technological and human capital and expanded its transport capabilities. Today, Sovcomflot is rightfully seen as one of the global leaders in maritime transportation of energy resources. Skilled specialists who know and love their profession work here. You continue the wonderful traditions of your predecessors in a befitting manner, successfully accomplishing various objectives and achieving results.
It is important that, despite serious challenges, you manage to ensure the full implementation of high-priority Arctic and Far Eastern oil and gas projects and to continue upgrading and expanding the fleet at Russian shipyards. Of course, I would also like to note that your company always pays attention to charitable initiatives, to supporting retired sectoral workers, to cooperating with specialised education institutions and to preserving the cultural and historical legacy and natural diversity in the regions where it is present.”
